Hey B, Love your fashion posts. What are your must-haves for this summer?
Ah, summer … my favorite time of year … beachy hair, bikinis, tan toes, and flowy, pretty, laid-back clothing. Bohemian-Cali girl. That’s basically my style in a nutshell, all year round. Clothes like that just make you happy, right?
First and foremost, distressed cutoff shorts. I live in mine (sorry Mom). For summer, I’m dreaming of the perfect pair in white, like maybe these, from Blank Denim on Piperlime.
Kimono jackets are another one of my favorite things right now. Blu Moon makes a bunch of great ones. Throw it over a simple tank top, distressed skinny jeans and heels and go get a mojito.
I am very into blending a bunch of chunky and delicate gold rings right now and wanted to add a turquoise piece to the mix. Saw this amazing $20 ring on Nasty Gal. Add to cart.
You can never, ever own too many lacy, crochet-y white tops to throw on over cutoffs and a bikini during the day or with skinny jeans at night. I am lusting after this top by Jen’s Pirate Booty …
… but this lace tank is easier on the wallet and has a gorgeous back.
The ultimate companion to the summery top is a military jacket. I am obsessed with this style to give an edge to a girly top or dress. This Hive & Honey version is sort of perfect.
I am also dying to find the perfect high-waisted, to-the-floor maxi skirt to pair with a cropped top or fitted white tank. Loving this colorblock version from ASOS.
Ray-Ban aviators are my go-tos, but I am also super into the oversized, slight cat-eye of these Von Zipper sunglasses (under $100!). Very California.
My dream bikini wishlist includes a suit by Acacia — love love love the prints and the itty-bitty bottoms — but they are oh so expensive and it makes me cry …
… A more realistic swim purchase came from H&M recently. I am very into vintage-y floral prints right now, too, and this bikini was like, THIRTY dollars. Oh, and H&M makes Brazilian-cut bottoms now, too. Sold.
Speaking of floral prints, I’m obsessed with the modern chinoiserie-esque print on this classic pencil skirt from Target. So chic for office gals.
Another absolute must-have for me are maxi dresses. So easy, so pretty, love them. If I had a lot of money I didn’t care about, I would buy this Twelfth Street by Cynthia Vincent leather strap maxi in a heartbeat.
Finally, I need to find a good floppy hat for beach days. Swell sells some cute, well-priced ones, like this one from RVCA.
